The Edge Works (theedgeworks.in) is an online store in India that sells digital ebooks. This page explains, in plain English, what information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- When you buy: your name, email address and country, entered at checkout.
- Payments: handled by our payment gateway, Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI or net-banking details.
- Newsletter: your email address, only if you choose to subscribe.
- Messages: anything you send us when you contact support.
Why we use it
- To deliver your ebook downloads and give you access to them.
- To send order confirmations and other emails about your purchase.
- To answer your questions and help with any problems.
- To send you occasional updates about new books, only if you subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.
Cookies
We use only the cookies our store needs to work: WooCommerce cookies that keep your cart and checkout session running, and WordPress cookies if you log in to your account. WooCommerce also records basic, anonymous details about how you arrived at the store (for example, the referring website) so we can see which links lead to orders. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking tools.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the services needed to run the store: our payment processor (Razorpay) to take payment, and our hosting provider (Hostinger), which hosts the website, stores order records and sends our emails, including the newsletter. We never sell or rent your information to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed to give you access to your downloads and to meet Indian tax and accounting rules. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Support messages are kept only as long as needed to help you.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Just email support@theedgeworks.in. We may need to keep some order details where the law requires it.
